Logistics are an important part of how we create added value for our customers and suppliers. In order for us to be able to ensure good service, we need to have control over logistics. Elof Hansson’s trading activities are characterized, among other things, by the fact that freight charges are a major part of the goods’ value.
The centrally placed Shipping department has overall responsibility for freight contracts within the Group. Our diversified product range enables us to combine shipments of, for instance, pulp, paper and timber in one and the same vessel. Furthermore, we ship containers filled with forest products to Asia and consumer goods back from Asia to our customers in Europe. Thanks to our ability to make these kinds of logistic combinations and to the large volumes of various kinds of goods that we move across the world, we can negotiate advantageous freight agreements for the benefit of our customers and suppliers.
